Camp Time

Holy Bad Blogger, Batman!

Things are crazy around here, folks! But going well. School is finishing up. We've got just under two weeks to go and all that's left to do is study for and take final exams. It's completely weird to me, because it feels like the semester just started. I can't believe that it's almost over! It's been a really good time, but I am eager for it to come to a close. I'm looking forward to the summer with The Academy!

We have our second camp coming up this weekend in Maricopa. I'm looking forward to it! We haven't had any form of rehearsal since January. I'm fairly certain that there are a few girls from California that are marching with us this summer and I think they're joining us for this camp. I'm excited to meet them! I'm not sure what we will learn--hopefully Center Stage pieces, as that is our first major performance--but I guess I'll just have to wait and see. The best part of Academy is hands down, the people that are part of it. And those are the people that I'm so excited to see this weekend. Nothing like spending every waking moment with 150 of your closest best friends, right?

They are revealing the new uniform design tonight which I am very much looking forward to because The Academy has been wearing the same uniforms for the past 8 or so years. It's time for a new look! This is going to be a big year for us, I can feel it. We're busting out; we've got a lot of new [intense] staff who are determined and I know that we as a corps are determined too. This summer will be different. I hope to inspire my fellow performers to dig deep and really "throw down".

The Academy is here to stay. Look out.

Academy 2011

Hello, friends! Sorry for the lack in posting over the past year. My life has been filled with drum corps, school, and family. I am back in the swing of things now, though.

I am thrilled to say that I have been offered the opportunity to march my age out year with The Academy. I marched with this outstanding corps last year and it was the best experience of my life. Through the 14-hour days of rehearsal, minimal hours of sleep and constantly being on the move from place to place, I learned more about myself and other people than I ever thought possible.

Currently, I am in the fundraising phase of the season...This is where you come in! If you or anyone you know would like to make a donation to my season with The Academy, please send me an email at theworldsatherfeet at gmail dot com. I would greatly appreciate any support that you are able to give.

More updates coming soon!
